 THE UTTARAKHAND RAJPUT COMMUNITY.

1.Chand, the chandravanshi rajputs. Migrated from jhunsi (near allahabad).
From the royal family of kumaoun. the CHAND dynasty.

2. Rajwar, the suryavanshi rajputs. Migrated from ayyodha. They are Katyuri's. (Pricely state of ASKOTE in uttarakhand)

3. Bartwal, both rajputs and brahmins use the surname. They are PARMAR rajputs from ujjain.

4. Aswal- the chauhan rajputs. There is a line used for them, as "AADHO ASWAL AADHO GARHWAL". It signifies their rule over the half of garhwal. There is a famous patti in the name of aswal as ASWALSYUN. They were Thokdars of shila patti in GANGASALAN,SOUTH GARHWAL, PAURI GARHWAL.

5. Jhinkwan- the another chauhan rajputs.  Immigrated from ujjain.

6. Kunwar - their name signifies themselves as the brother of King. It is said that they were rulers of some part of garhwal before the arrival of King kanakpal in garhwal.

7. butola- they are from rawat subcaste. They are TOMAR/TANWAR rajputs migrated from Delhi, and came around 744

 
8. Pharswan/farswan - one of the most reputated family, spreaded all over garhwal and Kumaoun. They were Courtiers of KUMAOUN CHAND DYNASTY king SOMCHAND. It is said that they were Thokdars of AGASTYAMUNI in Garhwal. There is a big belt of village of FARSWAN's in chamoli named as PHARSWAN PHAT.

9. Rautela- the PARMARA rajputs of gujrat.

10. Kandari - the PARMARA rajputs. They are the decendants of king JANMEJAYA.

11. Rauthan - the panwar rajputs

12. Makhloga - the PUNDIR rajputs migrated from Mayapur in 1403.

13. Kala bhandari- the treasury of garhwal king.they gave many great warriors like KALO SINGH BHANDARI, MADHO SINGH BHANDARI. they are PARMARA rajputs from delhi.

14. SAJWAN - the another reputated family, from SURYAVANSHI clan.they were GARH-PATI  OF - KUILIE GARH, SIL GARH ,KUJJADI GARH , BHARPUR GARH.

15.pyal - the raghuvanshi rajputs from ayyodha. They were garh pati of AJMEER GARH.

 
16. Manral - the suryavanshi rajputs. it is said that they are decendants of Katyuri's.

17. Meher- the panwar rajputs, migrated from jhunsi. 

 
18. Kadakoti - the. katyuri rajputs.

19. Koranga - the panwar rajputs fro. Dharanagar

20. Patwal - gusain, they are Katyuri's.

21. Nyal - the panwar rajputs, GARH-PATI of NAYAL GARH

 
22. Ramola - chauhan rajputs migrated from delhi. They were GARH-PATI of ROOKA GARH, MAULYA GARH.

23. KATHAIT - the katoch rajputs migrated from kangra.

24. Tulsara - the chauhan rajputs.

25. Rawat:- there are different types if rawat from different clans of rajputs.
They were GARH-PATI of MUNGRA GARH,VIRALTA GARH,KOONDA GARH.
